For the last three decades, I’ve spoken to countless groups.
I’ve given talks at book festivals, science festivals and arts festivals. I’ve spoken to historians, psychologists, magicians, parapsychologists and, most of the time, to folk in no particular category.
I’ve done this at universities, museums, galleries, theatres, bookshops, cafes and in those rooms at the back of pubs.
A few of these places are listed below.
I’m currently talking about how we make sense of the world.
This is based on my recent book: Radical Thinking: how to see the bigger picture. However, it’s not a typical book talk.
Rather than simply tell you how we think, I use stories, jokes and magic tricks to reveal the things that shape your thoughts. When you understand these things, you can see the limits of your own view.
If you want to see the bigger picture, then you need to be more curious. The aim of the talk is that, when you leave, you’ll be more curious about how you see the world than when you arrived.
The talk is designed to be in-person, but it can be adapted for online events.
